Iranian authorities announced full control over the protests
Abbas Araghchi
According to Araghchi, the protests sweeping the country are now under the full control of the government.
The publication Iran International reports that Araghchi claims Tehran has significant evidence of the involvement of the U.S. and Israel in the recent terrorist acts in Iran.
The minister noted: "We have numerous documents and testimonies that confirm the participation of the U.S. and Israel in the terrorist acts of recent days." He specifically referred to a statement by former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who, according to Araghchi, admitted that "Mossad agents were on the scene and managed this terrorist activity." Furthermore, Araghchi condemned Western countries for focusing on the actions of the Iranian police rather than on the terrorists.
Protests in Iran have been ongoing since late December, with participants demanding a change in the political regime. According to the human rights organization HRANA, the death toll is at least 544 people. The authorities of the country blame the U.S. and Israel for organizing the protests.
