Artem Novikov, the chairman of the board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, announced his appointment as the president of the Basketball Federation of Kyrgyzstan through his Facebook page.
He noted that this decision was made unanimously at an extraordinary meeting of the organization's board. Novikov expressed gratitude to the federation members for their trust and emphasized the importance of developing the sports sector and supporting youth initiatives in the current situation.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the federation. I am confident that together we can significantly increase interest in basketball,” he wrote in his post.
According to him, in the near future, the federation will focus on several key areas: the development of youth basketball, strengthening national teams, and expanding sports infrastructure throughout the republic.
