
Artem Novikov, holding the position of chairman of the board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF), has been elected as the president of the Basketball Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the board members for their trust and emphasized the importance of developing sports and supporting youth initiatives in the current state agenda.
“I am sincerely grateful for the trust and honor to lead the Basketball Federation. Issues of sports and the development of youth sports culture are currently priorities for our country. President Sadyr Japarov constantly emphasizes the need to promote sports, and we see significant efforts aimed at developing sports such as football and wrestling. Our athletes are already achieving success at the Olympic Games. I am convinced that together we can increase the popularity of basketball,” he noted.
According to Novikov, the federation's immediate plans will focus on several key aspects: the development of children's and youth basketball, strengthening national teams, and expanding infrastructure for basketball activities across the country.
