Oleksandr Usyk, who is the undefeated world champion in the heavyweight division according to the WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO, announced his intention to hold a third fight with Tyson Fury.

“It’s not excluded. It can happen, but we need to come to that. He wants to, I know, we spoke with his manager,” Usyk shared while appearing on his YouTube channel USYK17.

Recall that in his last fight, which took place on July 20 at Wembley Stadium in London, Usyk faced Daniel Dubois and won by knockout in the fifth round. This fight was a rematch for the title of absolute world champion in the heavyweight division.

Usyk has 24 victories in his professional career, of which 15 were by knockout, and he has no losses. His professional boxing debut took place in November 2013.

It is reported that Usyk will also defend his WBC title in a fight against former kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven. The bout is scheduled for May 23 in Giza.

“After careful consideration, the Board of Governors of the World Boxing Council (WBC) sanctioned Usyk’s voluntary title defense in a fight against kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven. The transition of athletes from kickboxing to boxing is not a novelty. Many athletes involved in Muay Thai have successfully transitioned to professional boxing and fought for WBC titles early in their careers. This decision is in accordance with WBC rules. The Pyramids of Egypt will add historical value to this event. It has been a dream for many, including our esteemed WBC president José Sulaimán,” the press release states.

The announcement of Usyk confirming his readiness for a third fight with Fury was first published on K-News.
