Kyrgyzstani judoka Erlan Sherov won the gold medal at the European Open Cup
The competitions took place from February 14 to 15, and the participation of 513 athletes from 45 countries confirms the high level and prestige of the tournament.
In the weight category up to 90 kg, Erlan Sherov confidently advanced to the final. He began his journey in the 1/16 finals, where he won against Belgian Karl Fubert, and then in the 1/8 finals, he defeated Lithuanian Augustas Slizerins. In the fourth round, he faced Frenchman Eniel Caroli and passed him, and in the semifinals, he triumphed over Egyptian Abdallah Abdelsameh.
In the decisive match for gold, Sherov won against Russian athlete David Karapetyan, securing him the title of tournament champion.
