Sofia completed the race in 24 minutes and 41 seconds (with an average speed of 48.6 km/h), which earned her 7th place. She finished 2 minutes and 45 seconds behind her Kazakh rival Anel Tashbai.
On the same day, Muhammad Ali Matkarimov will compete over a distance of 24.6 km, as well as Artyom Shapilov over a distance of 31 km.
On the first day of the Asian Championship, Kirill Safronov took 11th place in the individual time trial over 20 km among juniors.
