From the beginning of 2026, the incidence of syphilis and ARVI has increased in Kyrgyzstan
The highest number of cases were acute respiratory viral infections, which accounted for 84.7% of the total. Acute intestinal infections made up 4.6%, while gastroenteritis and colitis caused by identified pathogens accounted for 1.1%. Ascariasis affected 1.5%, and enterobiasis affected 2% of the population.
Comparing January-February 2026 with the same period in 2025, there is a sharp increase in morbidity: syphilis doubled, acute intestinal infections increased by 16.4%, ARVI by 4.9%, and brucellosis by 6.7% per 100 thousand population.
However, during the same period, there was a significant decrease in cases of viral hepatitis (by 76.3%) and botulism (by 33.3%).
When considering cases of gastroenteritis and colitis, there is an overall increase of 31% across the republic, but in the Batken region, morbidity decreased by 59%, in Naryn by 11.3%, and in Chui region by 8%.
Although the overall incidence of brucellosis in the country increased by 6.7%, in Bishkek it decreased by 75%, and in Chui by 39.3%, Osh by 33.3%, and Naryn regions by 16.4%.
There was also a noted increase in cases of bacterial dysentery by 25%, which is associated with a rise in morbidity in Chui region (doubling) and Bishkek (by 1.8 times).
