
The highest price increases were observed in the following categories:
- services for the population — by 3.6%;
- food and non-alcoholic beverages — by 2.1%;
- alcoholic beverages and tobacco products — by 2.2%;
- non-food goods — by 0.4%.
Brief overview of prices for the first two months of 2026
The leader in price growth in 2026 was fresh vegetables, which increased by 10.4%.
There was also an increase in prices for fresh fruits (by 4%), potatoes (by 3.8%), dairy products, cheese, and eggs (by 3.6%), as well as sausages and other meat products (by 3.2%).
Other products that have become more expensive since the beginning of the year include lamb (by 2.3%), beef (by 1.6%), vegetable oils (by 1.4%), sugar (by 1.2%), and fish (by 0.9%).
Among the products that have become cheaper are animal fats (decrease of 0.8%) and flour (decrease of 0.3%).
Price changes in February 2026
In February 2026, compared to January, the growth of prices and tariffs was 1.2% across the country.
Prices increased for:
- services for the population — by 2.9%;
- food and non-alcoholic beverages — by 1.1%;
- alcoholic beverages and tobacco products — by 1.4%.
In February, non-food goods decreased in price by 0.2%.
The highest price increases in February were observed for fresh vegetables and fruits (by 5.3% and 3.2% respectively), as well as for non-alcoholic beverages (by 1.6%), dairy products, cheese, and eggs (by 1.5%).
Additionally, sugar (by 1%), cereals (by 0.8%), lamb (by 0.8%), beef (by 0.7%), fish (by 0.4%), and baked goods (by 0.2%) became more expensive.

Regional price differences
According to the National Statistical Committee, in January-February 2026, prices and tariffs increased in all regions of Kyrgyzstan.
The Issyk-Kul region showed the highest price increase — by 4.2%. Here, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products became noticeably more expensive (by 5.8%) and services for the population (by 12.1%).
In the Osh region, the most significant price increase for food and non-alcoholic beverages was recorded (by 3.5%) and for non-food goods (by 3.3%).
Data on the food basket from 24.kg
24.kg continues to monitor prices for a minimum set of products. This week, the cost of the basket decreased by 484 soms, amounting to 7,290 soms.
In Bishkek, over the week, prices for bread, potatoes, carrots, apples, eggs, and fish increased, while cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and pears became cheaper.

24.kg also conducts weekly monitoring of prices for the same set of products in one supermarket. Prices may vary depending on the store, where promotional items may be available at lower prices.
Analysis shows that since the beginning of monitoring in late October 2018, the price of the food basket has increased by 4,020 soms. Since the beginning of the year, it has risen by 567 soms, and compared to the same period last year — by 1,147 soms.
Wage growth in Kyrgyzstan
According to the National Statistical Committee, in January 2026, the average nominal monthly salary increased by 16.1% compared to January 2025. It currently stands at 45,797 soms.

The number of officially registered unemployed in the country as of January-February 2026 is 38,000 people, which is 21.5% less compared to the same period last year.
