In Bishkek, at the Lenin District Court, a hearing took place today regarding the case of journalist Mahabat Tajibek kyzy. The lawyers filed a motion to terminate the criminal prosecution and immediately release their client; however, no decision was made on this matter—the court left the motion open.
It is worth noting that earlier the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic annulled the decisions of the lower instances and sent the case for reconsideration to the Lenin District Court.
As part of the new judicial process, the defense insists on the complete termination of the case, citing the conclusions of international organizations. In particular, the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention recognized the arrest of Mahabat Tajibek kyzy as illegal and called for her release.

The lawyers demand the release of Mahabat Tajibek kyzy from custody during the review of the case.
The journalist and head of the Temirov LIVE project was detained in January 2024 and later sentenced to six years in prison on charges of organizing mass riots.
Now, after the annulment of the previous sentence by the Supreme Court, the case is being reconsidered; however, the issue of the preventive measure and the possibility of release remains unresolved.
