On the first day of the agricultural census, the Chairman of the National Statistical Committee Baktybek Kudaybergenov participated in its official opening and visited various settlements to assess the work of the enumerators. This was reported by the National Statistical Committee.
During the field events, the head of the agency observed the information collection process, evaluated the organization of the enumerators' work, and interacted with residents and enumerators. Special attention was paid to the quality of the surveys and the readiness of respondents to participate in the census. According to Kudaybergenov, the population shows understanding and responsibility towards this campaign, expressing interest in its results.
He also emphasized the importance of the census for developing effective state policies, advancing agriculture, and ensuring food security.
“The agricultural census will provide a complete picture of the state of the agricultural sector, including information on land use, livestock numbers, the structure of agricultural producers, and the technologies used. This data will serve as a basis for strategic decisions at the state level,” he noted.
The National Statistical Committee reports that the census will cover all regions of the country and will take place from March 20 to April 10 of this year. Specially trained enumerators will collect information through personal interviews using modern digital technologies.
The agency urges all farmers, agricultural producers, and households to actively participate in the census and provide accurate data, which will ensure high quality of the final statistics.
The census is conducted in accordance with international standards and is an important step towards the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan's agricultural sector.
