A new regional hospital is being built

During his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaiev, assessed the current state of several medical institutions, according to information provided by his press service.

In Karakol, Kasymaiev visited the regional unified hospital, which was built in 1968 and has 550 beds. He inspected the intensive care and surgical departments, as well as familiarized himself with the conditions in which patients are treated and the available medical equipment.

Additionally, the head of the government reviewed the progress of the construction of a new 350-bed hospital building, which is set to begin in 2024. The new complex will consist of eight blocks and is planned to be completed by 2027.

Kasymaiev also instructed the provision of apartments for young doctors working in the hospital under the state mortgage lending program, as well as the need to address the construction of housing for medical staff.

Furthermore, Kasymaiev visited the anti-plague department of the Center for Control and Prevention of Particularly Dangerous and Quarantine Infections. This institution was founded in 1894, and its laboratory facilities do not meet modern biological safety standards. Following the visit, relevant organizations were tasked with developing plans for the construction of a new building and upgrading the material and technical base.
