During his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Head of the Presidential Administration, Adylbek Kasymaliev, familiarized himself with the condition of several medical institutions.
He started by visiting the regional unified hospital located in Karakol. This building, constructed in 1968, was designed for 550 beds. Adylbek Kasymaliev inspected the intensive care and surgical departments, as well as assessed the condition of the existing equipment and the treatment conditions for patients.
Additionally, he reviewed the construction process of a new hospital wing that will accommodate 350 beds. The work began in 2024, and the building will consist of eight blocks. The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
The head of the cabinet noted the significance of this medical institution for the region and instructed to ensure its timely and quality completion. Adylbek Kasymaliev also proposed to provide housing for young doctors working at the hospital through a state mortgage program and to address the issue of building service housing.
Furthermore, he was presented with a project for an international medical cluster in Karakol, which could become a leading center for high technologies in medicine and medical tourism for CIS countries and neighboring states. The project includes the development of modern diagnostic and treatment technologies, the establishment of specialized centers for oncology and cardiology, attracting foreign specialists, and forming a medical education system. The project cost is estimated at 150 million dollars, with a total of 510 beds expected. Approximately 750 new jobs are anticipated to be created.
The next stop of the visit was the anti-plague department of the Center for Control and Prevention of Particularly Dangerous and Quarantine Infections. The building of this institution was constructed in 1894, and its laboratory base does not meet modern biosafety standards. Following the visit, relevant authorities were instructed to consider the possibility of constructing a new building and updating the material and technical base.
As part of the trip, he also visited the Issyk-Kul Regional Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination, which is in a state of emergency. The institution was built in 1897 and includes three subdivisions.
As a result of the visit, Adylbek Kasymaliev instructed the relevant state bodies to consider issues related to the modernization of the bureau's infrastructure, including the construction of a new building and the acquisition of necessary equipment.
