In the rivers flowing into Issyk-Kul, half a million trout fry have been released

As part of the fish stocking event that took place on March 12, 582 thousand fry of Issyk-Kul trout were released. Employees of the regional acclimatization and fish breeding department, representing the Department of Fisheries, conducted this initiative in the Ton district.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture, representatives from various organizations participated in the event, including the Ton District State Administration, the tourist-ecological police, the environmental and technical supervision service, as well as researchers from the Institute of Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and experts from the Issyk-Kul State Reserve.

The distribution of fry was as follows: 80 thousand were sent to the Ak-Terek River, 150 thousand to the Ton River, and 50 thousand were released into the Kekilik, Tamga, Jetii-Oguz, and Karakol rivers. Additionally, 32 thousand fry were sent to the Kara-Suu River, and 60 thousand were released into the Jyrgalan and Tyup rivers.

The goal of this initiative is to support the population of Issyk-Kul trout and restore the fish resources of the lake, as explained by the department.
