Over 19 million fish fry released into Issyk-Kul and Son-Kul lakes in 2025
According to data from the Institute of Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, 26 different species of fish inhabit Issyk-Kul. In 2024, 21.5 million fry were released into this lake, and 5.7 million into Son-Kul.
For the following year, 2026, the release of 14.1 million fry into Issyk-Kul and 3.5 million into Son-Kul is planned.
The department is actively collaborating with the diving service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Tourist-Ecological Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to conduct raids against poaching and to clean the lakes of illegally set nets.
