Experts and representatives of local authorities visited the Kyrgyz-Chinese border section to assess the results of the pilot project.
Previously, this checkpoint regularly experienced traffic jams, with lengths sometimes reaching 25 kilometers. This created serious problems for the road infrastructure and negatively impacted the ecology around Lake Chatyr-Kul.

The new electronic system involves the pre-registration of trucks. Vehicles will wait in a special zone called "Kara-Bulak," from where they will be directed to the checkpoints in turn.
This approach will allow:
- to avoid the accumulation of vehicles at the border;
- to reduce the load on access roads;
- to evenly distribute the flow of vehicles;
- to increase the transparency of inspection procedures.
The implementation of the project is carried out by the State Customs Infrastructure JSC as part of the Concept for the Development of the Service for 2026–2030.

At the 'Torugart' checkpoint, the construction of an inspection and examination complex and the reconstruction of administrative buildings are also underway. A new comfortable waiting area has been opened for participants in foreign economic activity, which should expedite the cargo processing procedure and enhance the country's transit potential, as noted by the State Customs Infrastructure JSC.
