At the border checkpoint "Torugart," an experimental project has been launched to implement an electronic queue system for freight trucks. This was reported on March 10, 2026, by the leadership of the State Customs Service during their working trip to the section of the state border with China.

The new system is designed to organize the movement of trucks and reduce traffic jams that previously often occurred near the checkpoint. At certain times, the length of the queues reached 25 kilometers, creating serious problems for the road infrastructure and negatively impacting the ecology in the area of Lake Chatyr-Kul.

The electronic queue involves the pre-registration of freight trucks and streamlining their passage through the border. Vehicles will be in the waiting area "Kara-Bulak," from where they will be gradually directed to the checkpoint according to an established order.

The implementation of the electronic queue project is carried out in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 401 dated July 8, 2025, and as part of the activities to implement the Concept for the Development of the Customs Service for 2026–2030.

During his working trip, the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service, K. Mukashov, familiarized himself with the process of modernizing the infrastructure of the "Torugart" checkpoint. He inspected the construction of the inspection and control complex (IKC), the reconstruction of administrative buildings, and the expansion of the checkpoint area itself.

Also, during the visit, a new waiting area for participants in foreign economic activity was opened. The created conditions are aimed at improving comfort and organizing work for carriers, company representatives, and other members of the business community.
