Recently, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that 56 tons of onions arriving from Kazakhstan did not pass border control.
The reason for the refusal is that the Chui-Bishkek Department of the Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Chemicalization Department found discrepancies between the phytosanitary certificate data and the information contained in the transport documents.
During the inspection, it was established that the information in the certificate did not match that in the accompanying documents.
According to paragraph 3.7 of the Regulation on the Procedure for Conducting Quarantine Phytosanitary Control on the Territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, approved by the decision of the Customs Union Commission on June 18, 2010, No. 318, the import of this batch of products into Kyrgyzstan was deemed impossible, and the cargo was returned to the country of origin.
The ministry emphasizes the importance of strict adherence to phytosanitary standards when importing agricultural products.
