The new publication has sparked controversy and active discussions in society
Blogger from Kyrgyzstan Aktilek Orozbekov has once again started conducting "language patrols." In his latest video, he visited a computer club and demanded that an employee communicate in the Kyrgyz language.
This video has provoked heated discussions on social media and divided the public. One part of the users calls for stricter language norms in the country, suggesting deporting and fining those who do not speak Kyrgyz. At the same time, another group advocates for the development of the state language but opposes extreme measures against citizens.
It is worth noting that Aktilek Orozbekov actively films videos with "language patrols," visiting various establishments—from shops to cafes—and demanding service in the Kyrgyz language. In 2024, he was arrested and charged with "Public calls for the violent seizure of power."
The blogger became particularly well-known after a conflict with the retail chain "Kulikovsky," when part of the Kyrgyzstani public supported him and applied "cancel culture" against this brand.
