In the Jogorku Kenesh, TD "Kulikovsky" was criticized for a statement against a blogger
The company's position has come under criticism
The trading house "Kulikovsky" has found itself at the center of discussion in the Jogorku Kenesh due to its lawsuit against blogger Aitilek Orozbekov.
Deputy Baktyyar Kalpaev characterized the company's actions as erroneous, noting that the decision to sue the blogger is not the right approach.
Kalpaev emphasized that the situation is actively discussed in society, and at the moment the blogger has been under house arrest for nine months for requesting the company to serve customers in the state language. He addressed the representative of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kyrgyzstan, Umutkan Konkubaev, with a question about the legality of such actions.
Umutkan Konkubaev pointed out the need to study the case materials before making comments.
The deputy added that conditions have been created in the country to support the Kyrgyz language: "The president speaks it at international forums, and the head of the GKNB calls on investors to use Kyrgyz. Companies should respect the culture of the country and promote the study of the language among their employees," he noted.
It should be recalled that the incident began when the blogger requested to be served in the state language at one of the establishments of the trading house "Kulikovsky." In response, the company filed a complaint against him. Society is divided in opinions: some believe that the blogger should be punished for his behavior, while others are convinced that he did not violate the laws of the country and are calling for a boycott of the company's products.
Aitilek Orozbekov is a well-known digital content creator who makes videos demanding to be served in the state language.
In November 2024, he was detained on charges of publicly calling for the violent seizure of power. In January 2025, the Bishkek court found him guilty under part 2 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and imposed a fine of 70,000 soms. The blogger himself did not admit his guilt.
