In Osh, a police officer was detained for extortion

During anti-corruption activities conducted by the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR), a case of extortion by a police officer working in the "Sulaiman-Too" department of the Osh City Police was identified. The name of the detainee is Senior Lieutenant of Police M.A.Z.

According to the investigation, this police officer, taking advantage of his official position, demanded from a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, A.K.D., the sum of 200 US dollars. This money was necessary for a favorable resolution of issues related to the materials of the preliminary investigation opened against this citizen.

As a result of operational actions, Senior Lieutenant M.A.Z. was caught red-handed at the moment of receiving the bribe. In accordance with the provisions of Article 96 and Article 97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, he was placed in custody in the GKNB KR detention center.
