In the Jogorku Kenesh and in prisons, the Day of the Ak Kalpak was celebrated

The speaker wished that the kalpak always remains on the head

Today, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the Day of the Ak Kalpak — a holiday that has become not only a symbol but also an important element in passing down cultural and spiritual traditions from generation to generation.

This significant event also reached the Jogorku Kenesh, where deputies came in traditional kalpaks.

Marlen Mamataliev, the speaker, expressed the wish: "May the kalpak never leave the head, and our traditions continue to live in the hearts of future generations."

It is worth noting that this day was established in 2016 by a resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh to emphasize the importance of the national headwear.

Celebrations also took place in correctional facilities across the country, where various cultural and sports events were held. Competitions in table tennis, tug of war, playing ordo, chess, and toguz korgool were organized in the institutions.
