In the Alai District, the Day of the State Flag and Ak Kalpak was celebrated
The celebration was held in front of the Kurmanjan Datka Historical and Ethnographic Museum.
Participants in the ceremony included the district akim Chyngyz Bapaev, his deputy, the head of the district internal affairs department Chyngyz Imanaliev, and several leaders of various institutions and organizations.
During the event, melodies celebrating the ak kalpak and the state flag were played, while the flags fluttering in the wind added a sense of solemnity to the celebration. The district akim congratulated those present, emphasizing the historical significance of the state symbols and their importance in the modern world.
The celebration concluded with the performance of the song "Alay" by Zhyrgalbek Zhangozuev, which is considered the anthem of Alay and was warmly received by the audience.
Employees of district institutions also actively participated in the celebration, forming a living chain wearing ak kalpaks and holding flags.

Every year on March 5, the Day of the Ak Kalpak is celebrated in Kyrgyzstan, which was established by a resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh on June 29, 2016. The purpose of this day is to preserve and respect the national headwear, support traditions, and awaken pride in Kyrgyz culture. The unofficial celebration of the Day of the Ak Kalpak began back in 2011.
The State Flag of the Kyrgyz Republic was approved on March 3, 1992, and raised at the Government House on March 5. The authors of the flag are E. Aydarbekov, B. Zhaichibekov, S. Iptarov, Zh. Mataev, and M. Sydykov.
On December 22, 2023, President Sadyr Japarov signed a law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the State Symbols of the Kyrgyz Republic,'" which was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on December 20, 2023. This law aimed to improve one of the main state symbols—the flag—by changing the wavy shape of the sun rays to a straight line.
