Deputy Gula Kozhokulova considers the shooting of animals a cruel method
At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Gula Kozhokulova raised an important issue regarding the shooting of stray dogs in Bishkek.
The deputy noted that many citizens express concern about the legality of actions related to the shooting of stray animals.
“The residents of the capital care deeply about animals and perceive such measures negatively. There are many questions: how lawful are the actions of 'Tazalyk' regarding the shooting of stray dogs? Why is the city budget allocating between 4 to 7 million soms annually for these purposes? Shouldn't these funds be directed towards sterilization, capture, or the creation of shelters?” - she emphasized.
Additionally, Gula Kozhokulova urged her colleagues from the city council to reconsider the budget allocations related to what she considers “cruel measures” against animals.
The deputy also appealed to the prosecutor's office to verify the legality of the actions of city services concerning the shooting of stray dogs.
