On March 2, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Talaybek Ibraev, made a working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, where he familiarized himself with the state of energy facilities and prospective projects planned for 2026.
The beginning of his visit was marked by a meeting with employees of the branch of OJSC "NESK" — the Issyk-Kul Electric Networks Enterprise. During the discussion, the minister answered the pressing questions of the employees and emphasized the importance of the prompt installation of "smart" meters, as well as the need to reduce electricity losses.
To improve the service at the "Bedele" checkpoint in the Kara-Sai valley and neighboring villages, the minister instructed the creation of a Kara-Sai Electric Networks division under the Jeti-Oguz RES, as well as an Oi-Tal division under the Tyup RES.
There was also a need identified for providing specialized equipment to the Jeti-Oguz and Tyup RES, as well as communication services.
The minister also familiarized himself with the project for the construction of a thermal power center in Karakol, which will have a capacity of 120 MW and will be connected to the electrical networks through the 110/35/10 kV "Przhevalsk" substation. This project will fully meet the city's electricity needs after the center is put into operation.
During the trip, the minister visited the racetrack in Baktyu-Dolonotu, where issues of reliable power supply were discussed, especially in connection with the upcoming SCO summit and the VI World Nomad Games.
At the Cholpon-Ata RES, the minister familiarized himself with the capital renovation of the administrative building, listened to the employees' suggestions, and assured them of the necessity to provide the division with the required equipment.
As part of the trip, the modernization of the "Dolinka" substation was also considered. According to the project, two old transformers will be replaced with new ones with a capacity of 40 MVA each, which will allow for the creation of a new substation with a total capacity of 80 MVA.
The minister also visited the "El-Nuru" energy workers' boarding house, where he checked the progress of construction work and readiness for the summer season. Currently, the construction of five two-story and five one-story cottages with a total capacity of 50 places is underway.
In addition, a complete modernization of the water supply system of the boarding house is being carried out.
The minister instructed to ensure high quality in the execution of all works and to complete the construction by June 10, 2026.
Summarizing his trip, he noted that the development of the energy infrastructure of the region and ensuring reliable power supply remain key priorities. He emphasized that the quality execution of the assigned tasks is the foundation for the stable operation of the industry.
