The Minister of Energy Familiarized Himself with Energy Facilities and Projects in the Issyk-Kul Region
According to the information from the department, the first stage of the visit included a meeting between the minister and the employees of the branch of JSC "NESC" — the Issyk-Kul Electric Networks Enterprise, where key issues in the energy sector were discussed. Employees received answers to their questions, and the minister issued instructions to expedite the installation of "smart" meters and reduce electricity losses.
As part of ensuring operational service for the "Bedel" checkpoint in the Kara-Sai valley and neighboring settlements, the task was set to create the Kara-Sai Electric Networks Division under the Jeti-Oguz RES and the Oi-Tal Electric Networks Division under the Tyup RES.
The minister also emphasized the importance of providing specialized equipment to the Jeti-Oguz and Tyup RES, as well as the communication service.
After that, he familiarized himself with the project for the construction of a thermal power center in Karakol, which involves the commissioning of a new facility with a capacity of 120 MW connected to the electrical networks through the 110/35/10 kV "Przhevalsk" substation. It is expected that after its launch, the city will be fully supplied with electricity.
During the trip, the minister also visited the racetrack in the village of Baktyu-Dolonotu, where issues of reliable electricity supply during the SCO summit and the III World Nomad Games, as well as capacity enhancement, were discussed.
At the Cholpon-Ata RES, the minister inspected the administrative building after major repairs and listened to the employees' proposals, promising to provide the division with the necessary specialized equipment.
As part of the trip, the modernization of the "Dolina" substation was also considered. According to the project, the old transformers AT1-10 and AT2-16 MVA will be replaced with two new transformers with a capacity of 40 MVA each, which will increase the total capacity of the new substation to 80 MVA.
The minister also visited the "El-Nuru" resort for energy workers to check the progress of construction work and readiness for the summer season. Currently, the construction of five two-story and five one-story cottages is underway, which will accommodate 50 people. Simultaneously, a complete modernization of the water supply system of the resort is taking place.
The minister instructed to ensure high-quality work and complete the construction by June 10, 2026.
