The hearing was initially scheduled for February 2, but has now been postponed to March 3
The trial concerning journalist Mahabat Tajibek kyzy did not take place again in the Supreme Court due to the illness of one of the judges. This was reported by human rights activist Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova on her social media page.
She noted that the first hearing, originally planned for February 2, will now take place on March 3.
“Today the trial has been postponed again. While Mahabat continues to be in custody...,” wrote Gulshaiyr.
It should be reminded that the Supreme Court was supposed to consider the case in light of the findings of the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, which pointed out human rights violations against Mahabat Tajibek kyzy.
