In Kara-Kul, a requiem rally was held on the "Jengish" alley, dedicated to the veterans who carried out a peacekeeping mission on the Tajik-Afghan border from 1993 to 1999. Local authorities participated in this commemorative event, including the deputy mayor and the chairman of the city council, as well as representatives of government structures, educational institutions, and school students.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence in memory of those who took part in this significant historical mission in the Batken region. After that, wreaths were laid at the monument, and a memorial prayer (Quran) was read, followed by the ceremonial part.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of badges "For Service in Tajikistan" to the veterans. In addition, targeted social support was provided to the participants of the events: each of the 22 veterans living in the city received financial assistance of 5,000 soms from the local budget, and the funds have already been transferred to their accounts.
The organizers noted that such events not only express respect for the soldiers who contributed to the peace and integrity of the country but also promote patriotic education among the youth.
