In Kara-Balta, the memory of Afghan War veterans was honored
The solemn rally began with a procession from the building of the Jayil District Administration to the memorial for internationalist soldiers located in the lower park of the city. Among the participants were veterans of the Afghan war living in the Jayil district, as well as representatives of local and district administrations, leaders of various organizations, and local residents.
At the memorial, there were flower layings, a moment of silence, and a salute in honor of the fallen, which has become a traditional element of such events.
Speakers noted that during the conflict, more than 7,000 Kyrgyz soldiers fulfilled their duty, demonstrating courage and resilience in defense of peace and in carrying out orders.
Currently, there are 145 veterans of the Afghan war living in the Jayil district, and for them, this day is not just a date, but a reminder of their comrades-in-arms, of the hardships and trials they had to endure.
The rally concluded with an award ceremony. Veterans received honorary certificates from the akimat, the city administration of Kara-Balta, and the military commissariat.
