According to the agency, the operation was carried out for a patient born in 1981, who had been undergoing chronic hemodialysis since 2018. His brother, born in 1978, became the donor. Currently, both patients are feeling stable and are under the supervision of medical specialists.
Since 2018, kidney transplants have been performed at NCOMCH, and since then, 81 operations have been completed, of which 38 were conducted on a budgetary basis.

A new methodology for immunological testing in transplantation has been implemented at the center, which includes determining histocompatibility by the HLA system, cross-matching (Crossmatch), and calculating the PRA index. These measures are aimed at increasing the safety of operations and improving long-term treatment outcomes.
Currently, there are about 200 patients with stage 5 chronic kidney disease on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.
