
In light of the unrest that has engulfed some regions of Mexico, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic urges citizens to refrain from traveling to these areas until the situation improves. This information was announced by the press service of the ministry.
Those who are already in Mexico are strongly advised to exercise caution, avoid crowded places, and follow the instructions of local authorities.
In case of emergencies, citizens are advised to immediately contact the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the USA and Canada at the following numbers: +1 (202) 449-98-22, +1 (202) 256-2924, as well as via email at [email protected]. Additionally, they can contact the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic at +996 999 312 002.
It is worth noting that as a result of an operation by the Mexican armed forces, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as El Mencho, was eliminated; he is the leader of one of the largest drug cartels in the country. Mass unrest and clashes between armed cartel groups and law enforcement continue in Mexico.
