“Despite temporary difficulties, our institute continues to operate actively. In the past month, we performed 52 open-heart surgeries and 56 angiographic procedures. The number of outreach consultations has also increased — our specialists conducted 16 consultations in maternity hospitals, perinatal centers, and inpatient facilities, which significantly exceeds the results of previous months,” the statement said.
Modern treatment methods are under special control. Over the past month, five minimally invasive surgeries using the mini-thoracotomy method have been performed, as well as life-saving surgeries for patients with serious cardiovascular diseases, including newborns.
The institute has established regular computed tomography for diagnosing complex congenital heart defects, which is now conducted at the NCCHT on Saturdays. One echocardiogram is also temporarily available at the NCCHT. The diagnostic service has been strengthened, and the work of the consultative and diagnostic department has been optimized to reduce waiting times, especially among children with congenital heart defects.

According to the director, after returning to the main building, further development of high-tech cardiac surgical assistance is planned, along with improving the accessibility of consultations and strengthening the institution's staff.
