Violations are identified only during scheduled inspections, and agencies begin to act only after tragic incidents.
In the construction sector, there were 19 cases in 2025 that ended tragically. This was reported by Cholponkul Madiyarov, Deputy Director of the Labor Law Compliance and Supervision Service, during parliamentary hearings dedicated to the "Occupational Safety" bill.
He emphasized that all fatalities were recorded right at the workplaces.
In his opinion, identifying labor safety issues is only possible during scheduled inspections.
From the start of earthworks until the completion of construction, safety and working conditions are under the control of the inspection, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Construction. Specialists from this agency are engaged in relevant activities.
“Unfortunately, we respond to problems only after accidents occur. However, at the beginning of each year, we distribute warning materials across the country at construction sites. Every employer is required to ensure safe conditions for their employees,” he added.
