Labor Protection in Prisons: Eight Accidents Recorded Last Year
As part of this initiative, the service is actively conducting outreach activities aimed at improving working conditions and labor protection for employees of closed institutions.
Madirov noted that there have been no issues with salary payments to the convicted individuals; however, workplace injuries remain a serious problem.
"In 2025, eight accidents were recorded, two of which resulted in fatalities. We, together with the Military Prosecutor's Office, supported the families of the deceased by paying them all the compensation provided for by labor legislation," he added.
During the discussion, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh expressed concern that the convicted individuals are often unaware of their rights. According to the parliamentarians, information does not reach them, and they do not know which authorities to contact in case of violations of their rights.
Cholponkul Madirov confirmed that work in this direction is ongoing.
"Our service does not have the authority for free access to the territories of the colonies, but we constantly interact with the heads of correctional institutions, providing them with the necessary instructions," he explained.
