In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, significant changes are being prepared in the public transportation system. Ulanbek Beishenbaev, the director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the city administration, reported that all 72 existing routes will be reviewed and optimized, and new lines will also be added.

According to him, passengers should expect changes in their usual travel patterns, as in some cases, moving from one point to another will only be possible with transfers.

Additionally, a new payment system will be introduced. "Despite the need for transfers, there will be a unified fare for passengers within one hour," Beishenbaev noted.

With the "Tulpar" card, a passenger will be able to make two or more transfers within 60 minutes, paying only once — no more than 17 soms.

“The optimization project includes a complete update of the route network and a reduction in waiting times for buses. All changes will be made with consideration for the convenience of both local residents and guests of the capital, and will be coordinated with road repair plans,” he added.
