In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, work has begun on the creation of a new cultural center on the site of the old 'Chatyr-Kul' cinema. This became known thanks to the press service of the city hall.
The dismantling of the old building has already begun by the Capital Construction Department.

According to the "Frunze City Encyclopedia," the 'Chatyr-Kul' cinema was opened in 1967, located in the Botanical residential area on Dushanbinskaya Street (now Toktonalieva Street).
This cinema served as a cultural center for residents of the new neighborhoods, accommodating up to 600 viewers.
Over time, the cinema lost its functionality. In 2010, the building was nationalized and transferred to the state youth theater 'Uchur,' but a major renovation was never carried out.
At the time of the fire, which occurred in early November 2025, the building was in a semi-ruined state: windows and doors were broken, and the territory was not maintained, making the building effectively abandoned.

After the fire, the mayor of Bishkek ordered to expedite the work on the implementation of the project for the new cultural center on the site of the burned cinema.
