
During the event, the concept of a regional platform for "green schools" was discussed, which is planned to be approved at a high-level round table titled "Children, Youth, and Climate." Participants also considered issues related to the creation of educational systems capable of responding to climate change in the context of increasing environmental challenges in the region.
Nadira Dzhusupbekova presented information on the current state and ongoing reforms in Kyrgyzstan regarding the greening of the educational process. She emphasized that initiatives are being implemented in the country to enhance resource conservation, improve safety and climate resilience of school infrastructure, as well as integrate environmental topics into curricula.
The Deputy Minister reported that about 120 climate-resilient schools are functioning in Kyrgyzstan, projects to improve energy efficiency are being implemented, building codes are being updated, and standards for "green schools" are being developed.
