
During the discussion, participants reviewed the concept of the regional platform for "green schools," which is planned to be approved at a high level during a round table titled "Children, Youth, and Climate." Issues related to the creation of educational systems resilient to climate change were also addressed, taking into account the growing transboundary environmental problems in the region.
During the meeting, Jusupbekova shared information about the current state and ongoing reforms in the greening of education in Kyrgyzstan. She emphasized that work in this direction includes resource efficiency, improving safety and climate resilience of school infrastructure, as well as integrating environmental topics into curricula.
According to her, there are already about 120 climate-resilient schools operating in Kyrgyzstan, initiatives to enhance energy efficiency are being implemented, building codes have been updated, and standards for "green schools" are being developed.
