At the meeting of the collegium, the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, shared ambitious plans for improving the road and transport infrastructure.
According to him, in 2026, the capital will see the construction and reconstruction of 119 kilometers of roads and bridges, which includes:
- 19 kilometers of new road surfaces;
- 100 kilometers of existing roads that will be updated;
- 6 new bridges;
- 1 road interchange funded from the local budget.
It is worth noting that in 2025, 92 kilometers of roads were repaired in Bishkek, while in 2024 this figure was 62 kilometers, and before 2023, an average of only 17 kilometers was constructed annually. Thus, in 2025, the volume of road construction increased fivefold compared to previous years.
The mayor emphasized that the approach to road construction has changed: first, the replacement of engineering networks occurs, and then major repairs and construction of new road facilities are carried out.
Additionally, plans are being considered for the creation of multi-level parking lots.
We remind you that on February 12, the final meeting of the collegium of the Bishkek city administration took place at the Tunguch theater, where, under the chairmanship of Aydylbek Kasymaliev, the results of the socio-economic development of the city for 2025 and tasks for 2026 were discussed.
