Dastan Jumabekov: The Silence Law is correct, but exceptions are needed

The parliamentarian proposed two exceptions for festive days

Deputy Dastan Jumabekov expressed the opinion that the silence law is generally correct, but citizens should be given more freedom during holiday celebrations. He made this statement at a parliamentary meeting where the government bill "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic (to the Code of Offenses, the laws 'On the Basics of Crime Prevention', 'On Silence')" was being discussed.

He pointed out that the current bill provides an exception for New Year's holidays, allowing noisy events from 10:00 PM on December 31 to 3:00 AM on January 1. Jumabekov proposed a similar exception for Independence Day.

“The silence law is correct. But I insist that we need to extend the time for celebrating August 31, when we mark Independence Day. This is a significant date for our country and people. People gather in squares and celebrate this day. I ask the Ministry of Internal Affairs to consider my proposals at the next reading,” the deputy emphasized.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Oktay Urmambetov supported his position.
