In 2026, a major program for the renewal of electrical networks will begin in the Issyk-Kul region, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
According to information from the ministry, it is planned to replace 50 km of old wires with modern SIP wires, which are resistant to adverse weather conditions and ensure safety.
Additionally, the overhead power line with a voltage of 110 kV, connecting Tamga and Przhevalsk and measuring 80 km in length, will also be completely updated. This line plays an important role in supplying electricity to the Jeti-Oguz and Ak-Suu districts, as well as the city of Karakol.
As part of the digitalization of the energy infrastructure, in 2026 all consumers in the region will receive "smart" meters, ensuring 100% coverage.
Moreover, the modernization will also affect the substation in Przhevalsk: a transformer with a capacity of 25 MVA will be replaced with a more powerful one — 40 MVA, which will increase the overall capacity of the substation.

“All planned activities are aimed at ensuring stable, safe, and quality electricity supply for the residents of the Issyk-Kul region,” the message emphasizes.
