The Cabinet has expressed its position on this issue, as reported by Daniyar Amangeldiev
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Marlen Mamataliev addressed Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, with a proposal to conduct a new amnesty for the legalization of cars with foreign license plates. He emphasized that after the previous legalization, the state budget received 1 billion 800 million soms.
In response, Amangeldiev stated that it is impossible to conduct such a program again.
“During the previous legalization, sufficient resources were allocated, working groups were formed, and special windows were created in registration authorities for the legalization of vehicles. Unfortunately, many citizens did not approach this process with the necessary responsibility. If we have to explain this to our partners in the EAEU again, they may doubt our good faith and accuse Kyrgyzstan of facilitating smuggling, as well as of not contributing to the common budget and then legalizing these vehicles on our territory,” he added.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet, the issue has been thoroughly worked out, and currently, there is no possibility to continue this program.
