KOICA to Allocate Up to $10 Million for Air Quality Improvement in Kyrgyzstan

KOICA will allocate up to $10 million to improve air quality in Kyrgyzstan


A meeting was held in Kyrgyzstan where representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision discussed a new project aimed at improving air quality in the country. This project will be implemented from 2026 to 2028 in Bishkek and the Chui region with the support of the government of the Republic of Korea, which will amount to up to 10 million dollars. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry.

Present at the meeting were Minister Meder Mashiev, his deputy Asel Raimkulova, and a delegation from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The main goals of the project include reducing emissions of pollutants, developing a comprehensive air quality management plan, and implementing environmentally friendly heating systems in public educational institutions.

It is expected that the implementation of this project will improve the environmental situation in the capital and the Chui region, as well as enhance the effectiveness of environmental protection measures.
