Is there enough coal at Bishkek CHPP?

The city administration provided a report on the operation of the station

According to information from the city administration, the coal reserves at Bishkek CHPP are sufficient to ensure "stable operation" during the current heating season.

The average electrical capacity of the CHPP is 455 MW. The daily production of thermal energy reaches 9,285 thousand Gcal, while the electricity generation amounts to 10 million 925 thousand kWh. The daily fuel consumption is 7,831 thousand tons of coal and 368 thousand nm3.

The station operates 15 boiler units and 7 turbo units with cross-connections, as well as two power blocks — number 3 and number 4. Currently, 9 boiler units, 4 turbo units with cross-connections, and both power blocks are in operation.

To prepare for the heating season of 2025/2026, the supply of 1.4 million tons of coal is planned, which will ensure reliable supply of electrical and thermal energy at the CHPP. The fuel supply schedule is calculated until the complete end of the heating period.

As of February 2, the coal stock at the CHPP warehouse amounted to 204,537 thousand tons, ensuring stable and uninterrupted operation of the station.
