Sadyr Japarov Suspended Private Driving School Licenses for Six Months

The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, has issued a decree that introduces a trial period from January 30 to August 30, 2026. This regime is aimed at improving the regulation of educational activities related to the training and retraining of drivers of motor vehicles.

During this trial period, the licenses issued to private educational institutions (driving schools) for conducting educational activities in driver training will be suspended.

During this time, training will be carried out exclusively by state driving schools.

Upon completion of the trial period, the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic will be tasked with preparing drafts of the relevant regulatory legal acts for the President's Administration.

As reported by the press service of the head of state, this decree has been adopted with the aim of improving the system of state regulation of licensed activities, analyzing the effectiveness of the existing licensing procedure, and developing optimal organizational and legal solutions.
