The President suspended the licenses of private driving schools until August 2026

Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, signed a decree regarding the introduction of a trial period in the field of driver training. As part of this decision, the licenses of all private driving schools will be temporarily suspended, and only state educational institutions will be allowed to conduct training.
The trial regime will be in effect from January 30 to August 30, 2026.
This decision is aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of the existing licensing system, as well as developing new approaches to the organization and regulation of licensed educational activities.

During the specified period, the licenses issued to private driving schools for the training and retraining of drivers will be suspended. Educational services during this time will be provided exclusively by state driving schools.

Upon completion of the trial period, the Presidential Administration will be tasked with preparing the relevant regulatory legal acts for the President's Administration, as well as implementing other measures stipulated by the decree.

The oversight of the implementation of this decree is assigned to the department responsible for monitoring the execution of the decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers.

The decree will come into force on January 30, 2026.
