During this meeting, the composition of the interagency commission was also formed, which will be responsible for selecting the new anthem. The commission includes deputies such as Nurchamal Torobekova, Baktyyar Kalpaev, Venera Salyamova, Kamila Talieva, and Ulan Zhaanbaev.
Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu reported that the new composition should be chosen by June 1. He added that both individual citizens and groups can participate. If necessary, the deadlines may be extended until September to create an anthem that every citizen can perform.
Preliminarily, on January 27, three draft anthems proposed by the commission were considered at the meeting of the committee on constitutional legislation, but all of them were rejected.
The idea of the need to change the anthem in 2024 was put forward by the speaker of parliament Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu and found support from the president. As a result, an interagency commission was created to select a new anthem, which is expected to complete its work by April 2025.
