The Speaker of the Parliament spoke about what the new anthem of Kyrgyzstan should be like.
The anthem should be easy to perform, noted the deputies
At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu shared his opinion on what the new anthem of Kyrgyzstan should be like. During a meeting of one of the parliamentary committees, several new options for the text and music of the anthem were considered, but none were accepted.
Turgunbek uulu emphasized that the main goal of the deputies is not just to change the anthem, but to create one that every citizen of the country can perform.
“We aim not just to change the anthem, but to create one that will be accessible for performance by both children and elderly people. In the upcoming competition, I urge the authors: most of the submitted texts sound like marches. However, a march is not the genre suitable for general performance. It is necessary to create lighter and more melodic works, similar to ‘Mekеним Мейкин’ or ‘Кыргыз жери’. Then our anthem will be performed not only at official events but also at celebrations,” the speaker noted.
It is worth reminding that the initiative to change the national anthem was proposed by Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu himself. Following this, a competition was announced for the creation of new text and music. Work in this direction is ongoing, and the competition will be repeated taking into account all comments.
