The names of the participants in the case have been changed.
According to the case materials, in October 2024, Zhanibek, together with an "unidentified person," organized a poker game in a two-story rented house. Entry for players was conducted by a pre-prepared list.
“All conditions for the game were created on the first floor: two gaming tables were set up, five decks of plastic cards were provided, and more than 500 chips were available. Individuals who dealt cards worked for a monetary reward,” the court reported.
However, this activity was interrupted by the police.
- According to the verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court, Zhanibek was found guilty under part 1 of Article 41 and part 1 of Article 219-1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (complicity in the organization and conduct of gambling, as well as providing access to them without a license). He was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. However, he was later released from serving his sentence under probation supervision for one year.
- The judicial panel on criminal cases of the Bishkek City Court confirmed the verdict without changes.
However, the judicial panel of the Supreme Court upheld the verdicts of the Pervomaisky District Court and the Bishkek City Court without changes, and rejected the lawyer's cassation appeal.
