"The appeal is based on a government directive"

A lawsuit against the Russian Federation concerning medical care for migrants has been initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. This was reported by the chairwoman of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, A. Mukanova, in the Jogorku Kenesh.
It has become known that the appeal was submitted through the Judicial Representation Center under the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic. The main objective of the lawsuit is to clarify paragraphs 3 and 4 of Article 98 of the Treaty on the EAEU, signed on May 29, 2014, which pertain to access to social security and mandatory health insurance for the family members of workers from the member states of the Union.
The Fund noted that the Kyrgyz Republic actively fulfills its obligations within the framework of the EAEU. Family members of workers from Union countries who are legally in Kyrgyzstan can receive medical assistance through the mandatory health insurance system in accordance with the State Guarantees Program.
Issues regarding access to the mandatory health insurance system for family members of Kyrgyz citizens working in other EAEU states are regularly raised by the Kyrgyz side at meetings of the Union's working bodies, intergovernmental commissions, and consultative meetings. The appeal to the EAEU Court is an important element of the dialogue within the framework of the integration association.
