Today at a parliamentary meeting, Erlan Kokulov, a deputy, raised the issue of the unsatisfactory quality of construction work on schools. This discussion took place within the framework of the consideration of the bill "On the Ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Saudi Development Fund for the project 'Construction of Public Schools' Phase-2," signed on October 9, 2025, in Bishkek.

He noted that new schools are showing cracks in the walls, leaks in the roofs, and cracks in the floors.

“When I try to discuss problems at the meeting and get answers from representatives of the responsible authorities, such as the Ministry of Construction, I am told not to ask questions. How can we be true representatives of the people? Should we just sit and press buttons? Meeting with the head of the Ministry of Construction is impossible; they do not want to communicate with us. At the meeting, some are just smiling. If I were in your place, Nurdana Kemelovich (Oruntaev), I wouldn’t be smiling. Questions are also not allowed in the committee. If this situation continues, our schools will remain in a state of disrepair,” concluded Kokulov.
